Reflection on Christ’s Sacrifice and the Call to Renewal

For our sake, Christ bore the weight of sin (cf. 2 Cor 5:21), as the Father placed on Him the burden of our faults.

Pope Benedict XVI called this a “turning of God against Himself” (Deus Caritas Est 12),a sign of divine love that embraces even enemies (cf. Mt 5:43-48).

Through the paschal mystery, God invites not empty discussion, like the Athenians “who spent their time…

telling or hearing something new” (Acts 17:21), but a true dialogue of salvation—

often drowned out today by distraction and misuse of media.

Sharing in Christ’s suffering means standing with the poor, the innocent, and the marginalized.

Violence, greed, and environmental harm reveal our distance from God, while true conversion shows itself in generosity and acts of mercy.

From March 26–28 in Assisi, young economists and innovators will gather to promote a just, inclusive economy.

May Mary Most Holy help us make Lent a time of renewed hearts, reconciliation,

and faithful witness as “the salt of the earth and the light of the world” (cf. Mt 5:13-14).
