Robin Westman Identified as Suspect in Tragic Annunciation Church Shooting That Left 2 Kids Dead – Disturbing Details Emerge

On August 27, 2025, what began as a peaceful student Mass at Annunciation Church in Minneapolis quickly turned into tragedy when a lone gunman opened fire inside the sanctuary. Two children, aged 8 and 10, were killed, and 17 others—including 14 children—were wounded. Among the injured, two remain in critical condition. The community was left in shock and mourning after the horrific attack.

Authorities identified the shooter as Robin Westman, a local woman in her early 20s who had legally changed her name from Robert in 2020. Westman left behind disturbing online material, including videos with firearms, white supremacist imagery, and anti-religious symbols. A handwritten manifesto revealed years of mental health struggles, emotional isolation, and remorse for her actions.

Officials believe Westman died during the attack. Witnesses described the chaos and fear inside the church. Fifth-grader Weston Halse recounted hiding under a pew while a friend shielded him but was injured in the process.

Parents shared their anguish and relief after finding their children safe, while also expressing frustration over the rising number of school shootings. Carla Maldonado, mother of two survivors, spoke about the intense emotions and the importance of preparation in schools to handle such crises.

President Donald Trump responded to the tragedy on social media, urging prayers for the victims and their families. He ordered U.S. flags to be flown at half-staff until August 31 at all federal buildings, military posts, and diplomatic facilities nationwide and abroad.

The FBI continues to investigate the incident, working to provide answers and support for the grieving community.
