Palatka, FL – A 12-year-old student at Palatka Junior-Senior High School was arrested Thursday after deputies discovered a notebook containing written threats to kill classmates, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, Galvin allegedly admitted the notebook was hers when questioned. She was arrested on a charge of making a written threat to kill — a second-degree felony under Florida law — and taken to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office before being transferred to a Department of Juvenile Justice facility.
Under state statutes, law enforcement may release identifying information about a juvenile if the alleged offense would constitute a felony if committed by an adult. The sheriff’s office stated the disclosure was made due to the potential threat to student safety.
