How to Make Your Glass Stovetop Look Brand New Again

Keeping a glass stovetop spotless can be tricky after spills or burnt-on stains, but you don’t need harsh cleaners or pricey products to restore its shine.

With a few simple household items, you can clean it safely and effectively.

Start by gathering basic supplies: baking soda, liquid dish soap, distilled vinegar, a towel, and a soft sponge or brush.

These gentle, non-toxic ingredients work together to remove grease and residue without scratching the glass.

First, fill a spray bottle with vinegar and mist it generously over the stovetop. The natural acidity helps dissolve stubborn grease and soften stuck-on food.

Next, sprinkle baking soda evenly across the surface. It acts as a mild abrasive, powerful enough to tackle stains but safe for delicate finishes.

Soak a towel in hot water mixed with a few drops of dish soap. Wring it out so it’s damp but not dripping, then lay it flat over the stovetop. Leave it in place for about 15–20 minutes to loosen grime and burnt residue.

When time’s up, remove the towel and gently scrub the surface using a soft sponge or brush. For stubborn spots, repeat the process or add a little extra baking soda. Avoid using steel wool or harsh pads, which can scratch the glass.

Once clean, spray another light mist of vinegar and wipe it away with a microfiber cloth. The vinegar will remove streaks and leave a glossy, polished finish.

This easy, low-cost method keeps your glass stovetop looking like new. By cleaning regularly after cooking, you’ll prevent buildup and make each cleanup quicker. A sparkling stovetop not only enhances your kitchen’s appearance but also keeps your cooking space safe, hygienic, and ready for your next meal.
