The tragic event, which took place on August 27, 2025, resulted in at least two fatalities, with many others injured. According to reports, approximately 20 people were harmed, and four of them are in critical condition, per KARE 11.

A local resident, Michael Kraabel, shared his experience on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “I live in Tangletown, Minneapolis and just heard a massive shoot out just a couple blocks from my house. 100+ rounds. Now we hear sirens coming.”

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey confirmed he is aware of “reports of horrific violence” after the shooter opened fire at Annunciation Catholic Church.

“I’m monitoring reports of horrific violence in South Minneapolis. I’m in touch with Chief O’Hara and our emergency response team has been activated,” he said.

‘We will share more information as soon as we can. Please give our officers the space they need to respond to the situation.”

As the investigation unfolds, police have launched a manhunt for the alleged shooter, who is described as wearing all black and carrying a rifle. The exact status of the shooter is unclear, but authorities are working tirelessly to locate them.

The shooting incident has caused widespread panic, and as many as 40 police and emergency vehicles were seen rushing to the scene.
