Saying goodbye to flies, mosquitoes, and cockroaches might seem challenging, but there are easy, natural ways to keep these pests away—without relying on harmful chemicals.
Using simple, everyday ingredients, you can create powerful homemade repellents and traps that effectively eliminate these nuisances.
Why Choose Natural Solutions?
While commercial insect repellents may be effective, they often contain harsh chemicals that can pose health risks to humans, pets, and the environment.
Natural alternatives are not only safer but also cost-effective and environmentally friendly.
They’re a great option for anyone looking to avoid toxic substances while keeping their home pest-free.

Homemade Insect Repellent & Trap: What You’ll Need
-
5 tablespoons of sugar
-
1 tablespoon of yeast
-
1 cup of water
-
15 bay leaves
-
10 cloves
-
1/2 cup of regular shampoo
-
1 empty 2-liter plastic bottle
How to Prepare It
-
Cut the plastic bottle in half. Keep both parts.
-
Mix the sugar, yeast, and water in the bottom half of the bottle. This mixture will attract flies and mosquitoes due to the fermentation process.
-
Place the top half of the bottle upside down into the bottom half, forming a funnel. Insects will fly in but won’t be able to escape.
-
Separately, boil the bay leaves and cloves in water for a few minutes. Let the liquid cool.
-
Add the shampoo to the cooled herbal mixture. Pour it into small bowls and place them around areas where cockroaches and insects are common. The scent drives them away, and the mixture can trap them.
Results
Leave this setup in your home for about 1 hour, and you’ll start to see the results. Flies, mosquitoes, and cockroaches will either be trapped or stay away from the treated areas. Repeat as needed to maintain a pest-free environment—naturally.
