Tragic: Fox News Contributor Dies Following Hidden Battle With Cancer

Dr. Kelly Powers, a respected Fox News medical contributor and accomplished surgeon, has died at age 45 following a courageous battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.

She passed away on Sunday in New Jersey, according to an obituary posted by Holmdel Funeral Home. Born on May 13, 1979, in Yonkers, Powers built a distinguished career in both medicine and media.

She earned degrees from Baruch College, the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, and the University of San Francisco, and completed residencies at Georgetown and Boston University.

Known for her expertise and empathy, she appeared regularly on Fox News, Fox Business, CNN, and CBS, becoming a trusted voice on public health issues.

Powers was first diagnosed in 2020 after collapsing during a live Fox segment on heart health—an experience she later called “unreal.” Despite undergoing three brain surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation, she overcame the odds and welcomed her son, Bennett, during her recovery.

She often referred to herself as “the luckiest unlucky girl,” joking that she and her newborn had matching haircuts due to treatment. When her cancer returned in 2024, friends and supporters raised nearly \$100,000 to fund experimental treatment. Powers is survived by her husband, Steven Doll, and their son, Bennett. “She was a brave and beautiful soul,” her obituary reads.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, and a funeral service will be held Friday at Tower Hill Church in Red Bank, NJ. Her courage, compassion, and commitment continue to leave a lasting impact.
