12-Year-Old Boy Attacks His Mother With a Baseball Bat After She Denies Him Phone Time

In a disturbing incident that has reignited debate over children’s screen addiction and parental discipline, a 12-year-old boy reportedly turned violent against his mother after she refused to let him play on his phone.

According to local reports, the mother had asked her son to put down his device and focus on homework.

Moments later, the disagreement escalated into a shocking act of aggression that left the community in disbelief.

Neighbors described hearing loud shouting followed by the sound of something striking.

When authorities arrived, they found the mother injured and the boy visibly distraught. She was rushed to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the boy was taken into protective custody for psychological evaluation. “This isn’t just about a phone — it’s about emotional regulation, parenting challenges, and how technology is shaping young minds,” said one child psychologist who spoke about the broader issue. “We’re seeing more children becoming dependent on screens to an unhealthy degree.” Experts say that digital addiction among youth has been rising steadily in the last decade. Excessive screen time can disrupt sleep, impact social development, and — in extreme cases — trigger aggression when access is restricted. The case has sparked a wave of online discussion about modern parenting, discipline, and the mental health effects of constant connectivity. Many parents expressed fear and confusion about how to balance technology privileges without confrontation. While the story serves as a tragic reminder of how extreme screen dependency can manifest, it also underscores the urgent need for open dialogue, counseling, and digital literacy education for both children and parents.
